Antennas for trackside communications
Durable antennas designed for demanding trackside connectivity
Trackside antennas cover a variety of different requirements. One key area is monitoring and control of equipment located by the tracks, using either cellular or unlicensed (ISM) frequency bands like 433, 868, or 915MHz. Additionally, there may be platform based ticketing or vending machines which are accessed and used by the public. A final example is trackside WiFi or cellular coverage distribution, either in or around station concourses or tunnels.
The common feature of these applications is that they require durable antenna solutions which can withstand both long, maintenance free periods in exposed locations, and potential vandalism or unintentional damage from various sources. Depending on the application, the antennas may also require rail industry or other approvals.
