The Challenge
There is no sense in denying what is apparent, but a construction site is an area that has constant traffic all day long and sometimes during the night as well. That’s why site monitoring is an indispensable procedure in construction quality control. As a leading construction venture, Kajima Overseas Pte., also needed video moni- toring solutions to improve the safety and security of employees, business site and expensive assets around their construction site. However, since wired connections are not available at the project site, they required a wireless solution that allow for real time video streaming and to ensure the excellent connectivity they needed.
The Antenna
LPB-7-27
The LPB-7-27 is an extremely robust low profile antenna for LTE, M2M and IoT applications.
At only 82mm (3.22“) high and protected by a robust high impact radome the antenna is almost impervious to daily wear, tear and impact. The LPB offers excellent performance across a wide bandwidth.
The LPB covers LTE frequencies across 700 and 800MHz as well as global cellular frequencies from 698-960MHz and 1710-3800MHz making it an ex- tremely versatile product.

The Solution
Kajima engaged Blue Wireless to implement reliable connectivity for their streaming video application. Using a LPB-7-27 in combination with a Cradlepoint IBR 650 router, stable high-speed connectivity was established. All elements were combined in a junction box of high-grade plastic and attached next to the camera at the site. VPN functionality was added
to ensure secure communications back to central servers at HQ site.
The team can now track and retrieve video footage remotely anytime on-demand–ensuring safety at the site for staff and monitoring important assets.
