Install the ‘Great White’ antenna to help track tornadoes
Panorama Antennas is honoured to have its’ antennas taking part in Tornado Track 2014, a new TV series that premièred in the US this week, where tornadoes are tracked as they develop across “Tornado Alley”.
Working with NBC News & The Weather Channel, Panorama supplied the vehicles chasing tornadoes with “Great White” series antennas – a 4G LTE MIMO, WLAN MIMO & GPS, low profile, heavy duty, ground plane independent model which is suitable for any vehicle. This product was selected so that the meteorologists involved in the expedition can receive high speed, reliable data rates through the public cellular network operators inside the vehicles to access up-to-the-minute weather radar data both for their own safety and to provide spectacular close up footage of one of the most violent and deadly weather phenomenons.
Tracking tornadoes is just the latest vehicle application that the Great White Antenna series has been installed for. Numerous public safety agencies worldwide utilize this product for high speed data transfer as do many different mass public transportation fleets. “The high performance design features of the Great White antenna series makes it ideal for many different critical communication applications including tornado tracking where 4G LTE coverage will be required in both urban and rural areas. Panorama is very proud to be assisting such prestigious broadcasters as NBC News & The Weather Channel and so helping to provide such an exciting programme to viewers.” said Robert Jesman, VP of sales at Panorama Antennas.
