The Challenge
Out-dated equipment in vehicles meant that the fire service was experiencing issues with connectivity, slow speeds and increased levels of down time. The challenge was to provide the fire and rescue emergency service fleet of over 1,500 vehicles covering both urban and rural communities with a mobile data communication solution so that first responders can stay connected continuously in a mission critical environment.

The Solution
Panorama Antennas worked closely with its local distributor in Australia, Tekdis, to provide the fire service with the ideal vehicle solution, enabling higher performance across the fleet. The SHKG-6-60-QW “MiMo Sharkee 5G” multi-function antenna was selected alongside the Sierra Wireless MG90 5G router as part of a bespoke package provided by Tekdis.
The SHKG-6-60-QW is part of Panorama’s world renowned “Sharkee” range of combination antennas in a discrete OEM style housing. The solution offers 2×2 MiMo cellular covering 617-960 /
1710-6000MHz so enabled for all cellular frequency bands in operation in Australia. With integrated GPS / GNSS and optional MiMo WiFi, this particular configuration included 4×4 MiMo WiFi 6e (2.4 / 5.0-7.2GHz). As a single hole mount solution, the SHKG-6-60-QW is certified to IP69K and allows for an easy and professional installation. Supplied with full cable assemblies, the antenna connects directly to the MG90 installed inside the vehicle to provide instant 5G LTE connectivity. As such, together this solution enables for faster real-time data to be transmitted and received, leading to a better return on investment for the end user.
